Hello Vino: Wine Assistant App Reviews

I downloaded the app to scan some bottles to check their prices and availability. When I got to the scan feature, up pops a screen for now its time to pay if you want to use the scanner. A little hidden and not helpful

I love this app!

I did think this was a pretty good app for keeping a record of wines Ive tried. For each wine I could easily record my personal rating, a photo of the label, and cost; and sort by name or preference. I had a fairly extensive list; unfortunately, somehow when updating my phone, I lost all that info. My account is still there as before, but all data is missing. I have tried contacting Hello Vino via their support email multiple times, with no response. There is no phone support option. I suspect this app is not actually being supported any more. Ive decided to use another tool as I start from scratch again...

I have been using this app for about one year, and it has been very useful. I love the ability to take a snapshot and write notes about the wines I purchase. I havent actually made any of the recipes, but the feature that links to a recipe to compliment the wine youve chosen is pretty handy. Out of the wine apps that Ive tried, this is my favorite.

Ive had this app for at least 3 or 4 years and it never fails. I love it because even as a free app I can take pictures, write notes to myself, and build a database of my favorite wines and the stores Ive purchased them from.

I love this app. As someone who thoroughly enjoys wine yet lacks a sommeliers knowledge this is the quickest way to find a great food/wine pairing or a recommendation for an occasion. I dont have the greatest memory and it serves well as my digital tasting notebook so I can recall my favorite wines.

I really like the category to save your wines since I have a terrible memory.

Sorry, paying for scans is out. Try another app.

Just downloaded and got the same tasting notes for four very different Pinot noirs. Red flag. I think the designers might think higher level wine drinkers might be stupid. Uninstalled.

Very dissatisfied - virtually no wine can be found based on the photo of the label. It reads it correctly, but the search of the wine dB comes empty all the time. I am not a wine snob, just a guy that shops in my local wine store. Would love to have my money back, if possible...

I might take its recommendations if the same brand didnt show up as "highly rated" in virtually every category.

I really like using this app, it is easy to keep track of all the wines I have drank. I like the recommendations and pairing suggestions.

Call me an alcoholic but l love this app, it helps me pair all my dinners with great tasty wines!! And it also includes pricing!! Absolutely love it!

As my husband I hit our fortys we have decided to try drinking more wine.. Which is a LOT more romantic then beer or whiskey.. Lol and since we have 0 clue what the heck is going on I downloaded this app to help aid us in this amazing new adventure.. And I have to say AWESOME!!! It has really help us a lot to know what types of wine goes with the dishes we eat and what type of wine to just drink while watching a good move.. Ty Ty Ty the wine Virgins Rich&chris

Need a paring with a food, this is the app. Need info about a wine this is the app. It comes in handy.

I like this app, but have now moved to an iPhone 6 and find the app isnt updated for the larger screen. Also, when typing notes, the first letter of a new sentence is not auto caps like most (all?) other apps.

Ive traveled through a few countries and updated my vino list constantly! Had 50 different wines in there from all over the world. They are all gone! Went in to add another few and there is nothing!!

Searches were fairly quick and easy. However it frequently missed recognizing the year. Vintage specific details not available no rating data.

Seems to work well. Nothing stellar but a solid app to learn a little something about wine.

DO NOT TRUST THIS APP I trusted this app to catalogue amazing wines from Bordeaux Isnt this what it does?? Logs your wines ?? Leaves room for TASTING NOTES? I purposefully loaded my favorite wines into this app. I had spent the week in Bordeaux France tasting the most marvelous wines!! Carefully documenting and photographing each wine writing my tasting notes comprehensively creating my catalog. I write about wine. these notes are very very important to me as well as the photograph of each of the labels. I was in the press corps at the Bordeaux wine festival and an honored guest of many Grand Kru Vineyards- It is now eight months later theres not a single wine listed in this app. GONE. Not a single wine is there! they are all completely disappeared!
